CaliciX™ is a feline antiviral capsule for cats affected by Feline Calicivirus (FCV), the infection behind much of the painful oral disease seen in cats. Each capsule delivers 15 mg of EIDD-1931, the active antiviral form of molnupiravir, in a size 3 capsule small enough to give at home.

What Feline Calicivirus (FCV) does to a cat

Feline Calicivirus (FCV) is highly contagious and often settles in the mouth. Affected cats commonly show inflamed gums, ulcers on the tongue, gums or cheeks, heavy drooling, bad breath, and difficulty eating or grooming. Because the pain is constant, many cats stop eating properly and lose weight before the cause is identified.

How CaliciX™ works

Most Feline Calicivirus (FCV) care manages the symptoms. CaliciX™ acts on the virus itself. EIDD-1931 is incorporated into viral RNA during replication and drives the accumulation of errors in the viral genome, suppressing further replication. The mechanism does not depend on viral proteases and carries a high genetic barrier to resistance.

Given under veterinary guidance for

  • Feline Chronic Gingivostomatitis (FCGS)
  • Juvenile gingivitis
  • Caudal stomatitis
  • Viral mouth ulcers
  • Glossitis associated with Feline Calicivirus (FCV)

Why the feline formulation matters

CaliciX™ contains EIDD-1931 itself, not human molnupiravir tablets divided down. The 15 mg strength is built around feline weight bands, so dosing stays accurate and repeatable, and the capsule contents can be mixed into food.

If your cat is dealing with recurring mouth pain from Feline Calicivirus (FCV), speak to our team or your veterinarian about whether CaliciX™ fits into the treatment plan.
